The existing building, containing ancillary facilities to the hotel nearby, is to be remodelled into a dwelling house. Planning permission to add a mansard roof and entirely reconfigure the existing fabric was granted in 2016. A new application to add a full single level basement is currently under consideration.
The proposals take the appearance of the local vernacular integrate with and enhance the setting of the Conservation Area.
Due to the exceptional configuration of the land, the roof lines have been carefully calibrated in order to offer a visually integrated design. The main building is entirely reconfigured internally and new fenestration is proposed to enhance its street appeal.
